There’s a few things to keep in mind when enjoying your wedding morning, getting the most out of your getting ready photos, and waiting for your photographer to arrive.
To ensure we capture beautiful and memorable “getting ready” photos, here are a few things to have ready and available on the day:
- Wedding Attire and Accessories:
- Wedding dress, veil, and shoes
- Jewelry (earrings, necklace, bracelet)
- Any special hairpieces or accessories
- Bridesmaids’ Attire and Accessories:
- Bridesmaids’ dresses and shoes
- Coordinated robes or outfits for “getting ready” photos
- Sentimental Items:
- Something old, new, borrowed, and blue
- Special gifts or letters from your fiancé or loved ones
- Beauty and Makeup Supplies:
- All makeup and hair products you’ll be using
- Mirrors and any special lighting
- Personal Touches:
- Personalized hangers for the dresses
- Custom or matching bridesmaids’ gifts (robes, slippers, etc.)
- Details and Decor:
- Your wedding invitation suite
- Perfume bottle, garter, and any other personal items you’d like photographed
- Flowers, including bouquets and boutonnieres
- Tip: ask the florist to leave some of the extra loose stems
- Important Documents:
- Marriage license
- Any other necessary paperwork
- Food and Drinks:
- Light snacks and beverages for you and your bridesmaids
- Time and Space:
- Make sure the getting ready area is tidy and spacious enough for photos
- Try your best to stay on your morning timeline to ensure there’s ample time for these photos without feeling rushed
By having these items prepared and organized, you’ll ensure that your getting ready photos are as beautiful and stress-free as possible. The first thing I do upon arrival to your bridal suite is take detail shots of any available items listed above before you get dressed. Grooms may have cologne, watch, cuff links, boutonniere, etc, and we will flat lay these items if available.
