Nestled on the bluffs overlooking the Pacific Ocean, the Redondo Beach Historic Library is one of Southern California's most iconic coastal wedding venues. With nearly a century of history, stunning Spanish Colonial architecture, and panoramic ocean views, it offers an unforgettable setting for couples who want their wedding to feel timeless, elegant, and uniquely Southern California. With on-site food and beverage service by Made By Meg Catering, you can rest assured your guests will be well fed and taken care of.
As a Redondo Beach Historic Library wedding photographer, I love documenting celebrations here because every part of the venue invites genuine connection. From quiet moments getting ready inside the beautifully restored library to golden-hour portraits overlooking the ocean, it's a venue that naturally tells a story. With it's historic charm and ocean front appeal, it's the perfect choice for the timeless romantic in the South Bay of Southern California.
Let's Make Some Magic...
Following its highly anticipated restoration, the Historic Library has reopened as one of the South Bay's premier wedding venues. Originally built in 1930 as Redondo Beach's public library, the landmark has been carefully restored to preserve its historic character while incorporating modern amenities for today's celebrations.
The result is a venue that feels both timeless and fresh.
Couples love the Historic Library for its:
Panoramic Pacific Ocean views
Historic Spanish Colonial architecture
Beautiful natural light throughout the day
Indoor and outdoor event spaces
Elegant Grand Hall reception space
Oceanfront ceremony lawn
Prime location in the heart of Redondo Beach
Whether you're planning an intimate gathering or a larger celebration, the venue offers a seamless flow between each part of your wedding day. As an experienced Redondo Beach Historic LIbrary Photographer, Breana Isley Photography will document your wedding day story as it unfolds with a calm presence, elegant storytelling, and creating room for joy.
One of my favorite things about photographing weddings at the Historic Library is how naturally the day unfolds.
Rather than spending valuable time driving between locations, nearly everything you need is within a short walk. Just make sure you give yourself the time you deserve in your timeline.
Soft ocean light fills the property throughout the afternoon, while the architecture creates clean, timeless backdrops that never compete with the emotion of your day.
As the sun begins to set over the Pacific, the venue transforms into one of the most beautiful portrait locations in the South Bay.
My photography approach blends documentary storytelling with gentle editorial direction, allowing you to stay present while creating photographs that feel effortless, joyful, and timeless.
Just steps from the venue, Veterans Park offers lush greenery, mature trees, and open ocean vistas.
One reason I love photographing weddings here is the incredible variety of portrait locations available without ever leaving the property.
Some of my favorite spots include:
Perfect for elegant portraits and dramatic entrances.
The sweeping Pacific views create unforgettable sunset portraits. Within minutes, I can use this spot alone for a variety portraits and creative images for your gallery.
The white stucco walls, arched windows, and original architectural details provide timeless editorial backdrops.
One of Redondo Beach's most recognizable historic landmarks, the massive fig tree adds incredible texture and character to portraits.

Breana and her team were fantastic, friendly, and professional. They got our wedding pictures and video back to us super quick and they were perfectly curated and edited. She made everything so seamless and our pre-wedding meetings really helped us communicate our vision for such a special day. I would use her services again in a heartbeat!
The Redondo Beach Historic Library has been a part of the community for generations.
After voters approved funding in the late 1920s, construction began on what would become one of the city's most recognizable buildings. The library officially opened in 1930, serving residents for more than sixty years before eventually becoming an event venue.
In recent years, the building underwent an extensive restoration to preserve its historic architecture while preparing it for the future. Thoughtfully renovated interiors, updated event spaces, and carefully restored details have transformed the landmark into one of Southern California's most exciting wedding venues once again.
Today, couples have the opportunity to celebrate inside a building that blends nearly a century of history with modern luxury.
Because the venue combines getting-ready spaces, ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception in one location, your timeline stays relaxed. To plan ahead for a relaxed experience, I highly recommend adding portrait times, such as bridal portraits, onto the tinelnes to ensure you won't be cut short as things shift around during the getting ready period.
Instead of rushing between multiple venues, we have more time to document:
Quiet moments before the ceremony
Authentic interactions with family
Editorial portraits without feeling posed
Oceanfront golden-hour portraits
Genuine moments during cocktail hour
Reception celebrations that unfold naturally
This slower pace allows your gallery to reflect not only how your wedding looked, but how it felt.
After your date is secured with Breana Isley Photography, we will collaborate with you and your planner/coordinator to make sure the time needed for the vision for your wedding day story is safeguarded with the best timeline spacing.
One of the biggest advantages of the Historic Library is how naturally each part of the day transitions into the next. Guests enjoy moving through different spaces while remaining together throughout the celebration. With a 3:30pm arrival time, we know what can fit into your timeframe.
The ocean-facing location offers some of the most beautiful sunsets in the South Bay. Planning 15–20 minutes for portraits during golden hour creates some of the most memorable images of the day. If your ceremony time lands far before sunset, plan for sneaking out at sunset while your guests are finishing their dinners. They won't even notice, and you'll get all of the beautiful images you dreamt of when you chose this location.
A first look can allow more time to enjoy cocktail hour with your guests while creating a relaxed photography timeline. This only works if you have plenty of time between being completely ready and ceremony start time. Squeezing too much in a small time creates unneeded stress, and we want you to feel unrushed and enjoy your day. Timeline advisement is all part of your experience with your Redondo Beach Historic Library Photographer, Breana Isley and her team.
